Support G3!
Girls become leaders when they have a healthy sense of self-worth. G3’s programs highlight girls’ value and help them recognize their full potential. We involve participants in experiences that show them where mature thinking, strategic planning and smart decision-making can take them. G3 also encourages girls to apply their skills in writing projects and at leadership events.

Description of Programs
G3 Girls Lead!
G3 Girls Lead! is a nine-month mentoring initiative that runs annually from August through May. Most of our events are held in the community lounge at Jungle Juice Bar located at 14929 Charlevoix Street in Grosse Pointe, MI. Each season begins with a retreat to welcome new mentees and reacquaint returning girls. Other events include monthly personal development workshops, routine service projects, frequent cultural/social engagements, and ongoing writing projects.  We conclude each mentoring term with an awards event to celebrate the achievements of all girls and recognize parents as well as Youth Mentors for supporting G3 Girls Lead!.

Workplace Training and Career Exploration
G3 conducts seminars for youth, ages 14-19, on the following topics:
  • Goal-setting and prioritizing
  • Dressing for the workplace
  • Time-management
  • Communication etiquette
  • Workplace readiness
  • Matching career plans with personal interests/talents
  • Teamwork and relationship-building

Portfolio Design/Cover Letter and Resume Writing Workshops
In addition to the annual cover letter and resume writing seminar that G3 provides girls in our mentoring program, we offer a similar course to youth at churches, schools, and other agencies. During each session, students learn the following:
  • Basic components of a cover letter and resume
  • Organization of details
  • Self-marketing
  • Appropriate font style and size
  • Proper paper selection
  • Portfolio set-up and what to include

Participants also receive guidance while drafting their documents.
